Absolutely gorgeous. I love it.

i think the color scheme is drab for such a feminine pattern. and it bothers me that the yellow isn't a solid dot.

Melissa, I left the lemon motif as it was because the lemon started to over power the other colours. For me, the pattern isn't about femininity at all. In fact, I think checks are quite masculine. When I submitted it I noted that I thought it was appropriate for ties etc, I also think it'd make a lovely print for lining jackets. So, likewise, the scheme is intentionally muted. It's a little subjective of course, but I go for muted hues, rather than pastels and relatively uncomplicated hues.

Totally nice. I agree that it would make it pretty print for jacket lining!

I love that the colors are muted yet also complex and rich. I agree that it would be amazing on a tie or jacket lining.

Great Design. Also I like the fact that the design inside the check is truly your own.

i appreciate your explanation, natalie, especially since you don't owe me the explanation at all. your right, it is subjective, but your explanation helps me to understand and enjoy the pattern more. if i try to imagine the pattern in soft pastels, it doesn't work. muted, masculine tones are better for it.

i still the yellow would be better as a solid dot, though. :-) to each her own. :-) thanks again for taking the time to explain.
